What's going on?

Have you ever wondered what a Social Worker does in their spare time? Well Supervising Social Worker, Paul Fanning, based in our Cardiff office has recently played Professor Marcus on the big stage at The Chapter Arts Centre, in The Ladykillers.

He even had a review:

“the cast provided superb performances particularly Ruth Rees as Mrs Wilberforce and Paul Fanning as Professor Marcus.  The set was a visual delight, featuring a good mix of props that provided the backdrop to the era, and as the house was situated next to a railway track it provided timely sound effects, adding to the atmosphere of the play. Overall an entertaining production and if The Ladykillers is on your theatre to-see list its well worth catching it locally.”

The full review can be read here:

He was also reviewed by 'The Young Critic' who said

"the Prof’s darker side is well presented in Act II."

The Ladykillers a play by Graham is about a lonely little old lady Mrs Wilberforce is delighted with her new lodger Professor Marcus (played by Paul Fanning). His lively circle of friends are keen amateur musicians who brighten her day when they come round to practice.  What Mrs Wilberforce doesn’t know is that they are actually master criminals planning the biggest heist of their careers. When she unwittingly becomes embroiled in their scheme, she finds herself in terrible danger.  Will Mrs Wilberforce and her trusty parrot General Gordon win the day?

The Everyman Theatre in Cardiff, was founded in 1942.  It was instrumental in opening of the Chapter Arts Centre in the 1970s, and every summer holds an ambitious Open Air Theatre Festival.
