A massive congratulations to Donna, one of our Foster Carers, and her brother Paul and their friend John who completed The Vale Of Glamorgan Coastal Ultra Challenge on the weekend. Going a colossal 30 mile linear route along the entire coast of the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales.
The race started at 8am on Saturday 11th April at Penarth Pier. From here the route followed the Wales Coastal Path, almost entirely on a trail hugging the cliff top passing numerous hidden and rugged bays all the way to the splendid beach side resort of Ogmore-by-Sea. The route itself passed 19 beaches, with the final 14 miles travelling along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast with its dramatic cliffs, amazing rock formations, romantic coves and rolling countryside. The team had 10 hours to complete the race. All of the runners also had to brave winds gusting up to 32mph to compete the grueling ultra marathon.
Donna, Paul and John all sported their fabulous FCC running vests along the entire route too. Congratulations to all that took part!
