Two of our super star carers Tina and Donna, who happen to be mother and daughter, have recently completed the physically challenging Ironman and Tough Mudder assault courses.
The running duo didn’t do it alone either; the 6 children Tina and her partner have between them, and 11 grandchildren – which includes Donna’s children, and 4 foster children currently being cared for, were all roped in. Keen to motivate the children to live a healthy lifestyle, the entire extended family regularly take part in fun and charity runs.
Tough Mudder is a hardcore 12 mile obstacle race and mud run, designed by British Special Forces to challenge the toughest of the tough. The children also took part in Mini Tough Mudder which is a 1 mile obstacle course.
Ironman is considered one of the most challenging one day events as it consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a marathon, raced in that order and without a break.
Congratulations to you all!
