What's going on?

The government has heeded recommendations from pressure groups to change legislation which will allow fostered children to remain in their placement until 21 years of age.

The 'Staying Put' arrangement has been an option for some young people although it has not previously been an entitlement.

 

The Department of Education has announced that it will provide funding to enable local authorities to provide this new duty.
