FCC fully supports Aspire To More, a creative project delivered by Inspired Youth in partnership with the Children’s Rights and Advocacy Service which is part of CSES (Children’s services Education and Skills).
Aspire To More work closely with “Show Me That I Matter” (SMTIM), the name of York’s Children in Care Council, to meet care leavers who have made their lives a success. They then share what they have learned with the wider community.
FCC’s Transitions and Leaving Care Advisor, Pete Johnson, attended one of their sessions last month and was witness to some fantastic artwork and a film entitled ‘Listen To Me’. He said: “The group of young people, aged 13-18, presented the launch of Aspire To More with incredible confidence in front of an attentive audience. Each member of the audience left the event in no doubt that this group of young people will aspire to more!
