Amber-Jade was on ITV Wales last night, talking about her story ‘The Wild Ones’ - which is about her time at home before coming into care; looking after her younger brothers and sisters and being a mother figure to them, and feeling so isolated that running away and sleeping rough was the only way to escape - all at age 13.

Every year staff in Wales, take the looked after children along with their foster carers and foster families for a morning on the ice.

In October, The Fostering Network, a national charity who support fostering services across the UK, called on young writers, who live in fostering families, to submit short stories and poems to the competition.

Staff up and down the country took part today, Friday 12th December, in the event that is gripping the nation – Christmas Jumper Day.

The main aim of The Foster Care Co-operative is to give as many vulnerable children and young people as possible a safe and loving home. None of this would be possible without the help and support given directly to them from our foster carers.

Earlier in the year we worked with Dr Sangeet Bhuller from WISE KIDS as part of our ‘Safer Internet Day 2014’, which consulted children in our care aged 10-17. Below, Sangeet presents the findings from a large scale research study on the Internet and digital media habits and literacies of 13 and 14 year olds in Wales:
