We are fully supporting LGBT Adoption & Fostering Week 2017! Running from 6th-12th March, the event is led by New Family Social, a charity set up by LGBT adopters and foster carers to provide a network of agencies and support to the LGBT population.

Our Transitions and Leaving Care Adviser, Pete Johnson, attended an event at Manchester University called Supporting the Supporters on 15th February. The aim of the event was to provide information to foster carers, social workers, teachers and other practitioners about university places for young people in or leaving care.

It was Care Day 2017 on Friday 17th February. Organisations and individuals were encouraged to complete a placard with the prompt of 'I want ________ for children in care and care leavers'. Staff at FCC were keen to participate.

FCC are fully supporting Safer Internet Day, which falls on 7th February this year. Safer Internet Day was set up by the UK Safer Internet Centre, and its aim is to promote the safe and responsible use of technology for young people.
You really don’t need to be a superhero to be a foster carer. You just need patience, commitment and a caring disposition. We provide you with full training and 24/7 support to fully prepare you. As we don’t commercially profit from foster care, we re-invest any surplus income back into providing more care and training for our foster carers. This is how fostering should be.
