What's going on?

The Foster Care Co-operative in Wales annual “SEE ME” art exhibition is being held in The Oriel Gallery in the prestigious building, The Senedd, in Cardiff Bay; between Monday 11th May and Sunday 17th May 2015

With the election tomorrow, many are describing it as the tightest race in decades. We have scoured all the manifestos to find the policies that directly relate to children, and how they are going to be affected by the next government’s changes to care services. Please note, this article has not been written to direct you in a particular direction, but to simply present the ‘parties promise’ in relation to our industry.

Here at The Foster Care Co-operative in Wales, we’re very excited to announce that this year’s annual “SEE ME” art exhibition is being held in The Oriel Gallery in the prestigious building, The Senedd, in Cardiff Bay; between Monday 11th May and Friday 15th May.

Another successful activity day!

 For the last seven years, FCC have been running an activity day – set up to give both foster children and birth children a fantastic fun filled day.

The Foster Care Co-operative in partnership with Pride Cymru, as part of their Diverse Families initiative, are holding an information evening for anyone would like more information about becoming a foster carer.

A massive congratulations to Donna, one of our Foster Carers, and her brother Paul and their friend John who completed The Vale Of Glamorgan Coastal Ultra Challenge on the weekend. Going a colossal 30 mile linear route along the entire coast of the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales.

The inspection was carried out on Wednesday 11th March 2015, by Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales. The CSSIW regulates and inspects all fostering agencies in Wales on a regular basis to make sure excellent care is given to children and young people, and sufficient training and support is provided to staffing teams and Foster Carers.

Today Foster Carers in Wales went on one of the new courses we have introduced, based on their suggestions for their training needs.

Tina Maksimovic from one of our Foster Carers in Wales was awarded an Outstanding Contribution to Foster Care Award by leading charity The Fostering Network in recognition of her important role in fostering.

The Annual MEC Health Fair aims to promote health and social wellbeing among people from Cardiff’s minority ethnic communities. People from minority ethnic communities, will have the chance to find out about a variety of services at the “Minority Ethnic Communities Health Fair” which will be held on Wednesday 25 March 2015 at Cardiff City Stadium, from 10am to 2pm.
