Foster Care Fortnight 2017

It’s Foster Care Fortnight 2017 from 8th-21st May!

What is Foster Care Fortnight?

Every year The Fostering Network, a leading fostering charity, instigates a two week long campaign aimed at raising awareness of the amazing work done by foster carers and their support network.  It is a time to truly recognise how this work makes so much difference to children’s lives.

The campaign has been running for almost 20 years now – and it also serves to highlight the need for more foster carers.

According to The Fostering Network, 9,070 new foster families are needed in the next 12 months alone to care for a range of children, with the greatest need being for foster carers for older children, sibling groups, disabled children and unaccompanied asylum seeking children.

As an ethical, not-for-profit fostering organisation, The Foster Care Co-operative cannot stop children coming into care.  What we can do is provide stable placements to children who have had very little stability in their lives – always with the wish for them to be reunited with their birth families where possible.

Could you make a difference to a child’s life?  Could you look after siblings – or even support a parent in caring for their child?

If so, why not make an enquiry, with no commitment or obligation.
