Petition the Govt to Increase Foster Carer Allowances

petition 10000

In support of foster carers across the UK there is an active petition with the Government being called on to increase foster carers’ allowances and tax exemptions.

When a petition reaches 10,000 signatures the government will respond.  This petition is so…… close, with over 9000 signatures to date!

You can review details and sign the petition via this link today!

The petition seeks to get the Government to review and increase allowances paid for fostering, and also tax exemption levels for foster carers, so that these reflect the true cost of caring for a child.

FosterTalk presented a Cost of Living report that shows 43% of carers may leave fostering in the next 2 years.  It is expected that with declining numbers of carers, there will be a deficit of around 25,000 foster families by 2026 in England alone.

This report is based on the views of more than 4,000 foster carers.  It helps highlight the impact of the current cost of living for those in fostering.

At 10,000 signatures the Government will respond to this petition.
At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament

If you support the objective of this petition, share the links with your family and friends. Help get signatures and be part of making change happen for foster families across the UK.
