Thank you to our carers Mick & Sian!

Congratulations to Mick & Sian who have fostered for us for 11 years!

Mick and Sian were approved as foster carers in 2007, and since then they have been truly inspirational to the children they have cared for, other carers – and staff here at FCC.  Mick has also gone on to help deliver our Skills to Foster training, and has given so much of his time to help FCC promote its not-for-profit status.

Last year, Mick and Sian made a video for us.  Lasting just under two minutes, they manage to convey the passion, commitment and joy that they have for fostering.  Not a dry eye in the house at the end!

Speaking about their 11 years as carers, Mick said: “We are so grateful and in awe of the consistency and professionalism that everyone in FCC continues to extend to us in every manner. It is an absolute pleasure to be part of something so great and we continue to be excited by every day that we are lucky enough to maintain our fostering status.”

Steve Field, FCC’s Director of Childcare for England, said: “Thank you to you both and your family for the commitment and care you have shown to the children that have been part of your home.  You have impacted positively upon the lives of so many children and helped them through some challenging times to achieve far more than was ever hoped.”

Thank you so much Mick & Sian – you have truly helped to transform young people’s lives, and we are privileged to witness this on a daily basis.
